I was recently at Bora Bora in August 2022 for a dance residency as part of the CROWD international dance exchange and was thrilled to be amongst other artists who were also there preparing a show in the theatre space. Having the blackbox studio available at the same time as Don Gnu was preparing across the hall invited us into interesting artistic discussions, interactions and synergies. This is only possible when a space can unite many artists and their ambitions under the same roof. That is what a dance house is for, and as a freelance dance artist, I can attest to how everyone benefits from there being space for all visions--big and small--to coexist in one place. Without that kind of diversity, there is no exchange, not only between artists and practices, but also with the different audiences and communities that come to participate. Performing arts require space, time and risk! Please continue to support Bora Bora in offering the best possible professional conditions for making and presenting dance work!
