My daughter has attended Naturbørnehave i Ajstrup Gl. Skole for 1,5 year. In that short time she has flourished to one who is kind towards her fellow classmates, looks out for her younger classmates, and is considerate and caring towards nature and the environment. She has grown up to be a strong, healthy, and confident child. I grew up in NYC and can understand where a disconnect with nature and the environment can come from if one has never had a closeness to it. Denmark has always been a strong example for sustainability and environmental consciousness. Particularly in these critical times with the climate, I am shocked to see that reducing children's exposure to nature and green spaces are on the chopping block. If Denmark wishes to have a better future for their children and the world they live in, it is impertinent to keep institutions such as Naturbørnehave i Ajstrup Gl. Skole and nurture green spaces for children.
