Helhedsplan for Hjortshøj
Byggeri ved Østergårdstoften
Good afternoon,
my name is Alice Bandiziol and I'm a last-year student at Kalø Økologisk Landbrugsskole. I will soon graduate as a skilled farmer and start looking for a piece of land to start my own production of organic vegetables. I have visited Høsteriet with my class on a school trip, and I'm friend with one of the girls (Pernille) working there. What Marie has created in Høsteriet is incredible, she is growing a huge variety of delicious organic vegetables and flowers, in a regenerative way and has managed to get a rewarding production going and to have employees in only a couple of years without taking loans, which is something few farmers can say have achieved. Therefore I am most sad to hear about the Aarhus kommune's plans to build roads and buildings in the land she is using. This is a very bad signal to all of us who believe in small scale organic farming to be the way to go forward in Denmark. In a Country where there are 10 times more pigs than people, where there is fewer farmers who get bigger and bigger, to take away the land from a woman who is showing that a different way of growing our food is possible, is really outraging. We should all be supporting innovative citizens like her instead. There are no other projects like her in Aarhus. It makes me really sad that Aarhus kommune prefers to value cementification and urban spreading, at a high cost of human and environmental values. So I ask you, as a woman, as a future regenerative farmer, please don't build along Østergårdstoften! Please, let Andelssamfundet Hjortshøj buy the land instead, so Marie and the people around her can take care of it the best possible way.
Kind regards,
Alice
