Strategi for rekruttering og fastholdelse af international arbejdskraft
Infrastructure
Aarhus is setting ambitious goals for its international workforce, aiming to recruit 1500 extra foreign workers annually until 2030. This continues the city's positive migration trend, but it raises a critical question: is our infrastructure ready to support this growth?
One key area is schooling. Based on recent trends, approximately 15% of new foreign workers bring child dependents and around 30% of these children are 'grundskole' age, which means around 75 school-aged children expected to arrive each year. By 2030, that could mean up to 300 more children needing international education.
However, Aarhus International School is projected to reach capacity around academic year 2026. If we’re serious about attracting and retaining international talent, we must expand the capacity and choices for international education now. Without available schooling, talented internationals might think twice about relocating.
Ensuring we’re ready to meet this need is crucial to achieving our broader workforce goals.
